Craftbuilt was approached by Grant Wilson Builders to build and install a Matai staircase in the beautifully restored colonial villa. In addition to the staircase, designers, Novak & Middleton wanted a contemporary modern twist with the balustrading and handrail. Both the handrail and balustrade were crafted using American Oak, and featured a brass rod inserted into the balusters and a flat brass strip running through the length of the rectangular handrail. This was further enhanced with the use of LED strip lighting rebated into the back of the handrail, creating a visual glow onto the wall which really made a feature of the Staircase.
